Reminiscent of brooding alt-pop artists like BANKS, Låpsley and Violet Skies, SHE Major makes her debut with ‘Please Don’t’. Described as a nocturnal creature, this Belgian singer-songwriter invites us into her night world through alluring R&B vocals, a central piano line and plush, velvety electronics. ‘Please Don’t’ is a hypnotic slow burner, that’s for sure. Perhaps that insomnia, whether metaphorical or real, is why SHE Major says that “I have a lot of time to think and to feel, so I need to write things down,” and through that process she began a letter to someone she used to know, a letter that later became her debut song.
